I’m an artist working primarily with colour and texture. Much of my work is led by expression, sometimes beginning with a loose reference to landscape, but always allowing space for instinct and response as the work develops.

I work mainly on paper, and more recently on gessoed board. My practice moves between very small pieces — some as small as 4 × 4 inches — and larger works up to 16 × 20 inches.

I’m interested in how colour, surface and mark-making can hold feeling and atmosphere, and how a piece can arrive gradually rather than being fully planned from the outset.
